How to Protect Yourself & Others

Per the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), you may refer to the following best practices:

  • Get Vaccinated and stay up to date on your COVID-19 vaccines
  • Wear a mask (PHEO No. 2020-007 – Mandating Use of Masks in Public)
  • Stay 6 feet away from others
  • Avoid poorly ventilated spaces and crowds
  • Test to prevent spread to others
  • Wash your hands often
  • Cover coughs and sneezess
  • Clean and disinfect
  • Monitor your health daily
  • Follow recommendations for quarantine
  • Follow recommendations for isolation
  • Take precautions when you travel

Vaccination Booster Mandate

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 001-2022, Updated and Revised: Mandating COVID-19 Vaccinations for Navajo Nation Employees, all employees, regular, part-time, and temporary, must have provided proof of COVID-19 vaccination to their immediate supervisor on or before September 29, 2021. With the amended EAU issued by the FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), all employees, regular, part-time, and temporary, must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination booster status by January 24, 2022.

Vaccination Mandate

Per Navajo Nation Council Resolution No. CAU-48-21, the Navajo Nation establishes requirements that:

  • All employees of the Navajo Nation Legislative, Executive and Judicial Branches, as well as employees of all Navajo Nation chapters, including employees of Local Governance Act (LGA) certified chapters, be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. And
  • Employees who are not fully vaccinated, for any reason, against COVID-19 are required to provide documentation to their supervisor that the employee has tested negative for COVID-19 every fourteen days after the effective date of this legislation (09.14.21).

Navajo Nation Reopening Plan

The Navajo Nation Reopening Plan (“Plan”) is intended to guide the reopening of private and public sector activity on the Navajo Nation in a safe and organized manner in the age of COVID-19. This Plan shall be in effect for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.
